Mailburger vs Brevo: email marketing or an all-in-one platform?

Brevo bundles email, SMS and a CRM and sizes plans by email volume. See how Mailburger compares on A/B tests, team seats and price at 10,000 contacts.

Brevo, which used to be Sendinblue, tries to cover every channel a small business might use. Mailburger does one job: email marketing. Both price in euros, which makes this one of the easier comparisons to read. Here is how they line up in October 2026.

The short answer

Brevo fits teams that want email, SMS, WhatsApp, live chat and transactional email from one EU-hosted account, all drawing on the same credits. Mailburger fits teams that mainly send newsletters and automations and want A/B tests, several team seats and single sign-on on a small budget. At 10,000 contacts Brevo Starter is €28 a month and Standard €55; Mailburger Pro is €20 for up to 50,000 contacts.

For plan-by-plan tables, see Mailburger vs Brevo.

What each one is

Brevo is an all-in-one customer platform from France. It covers email, SMS, WhatsApp, web and mobile push, live chat and a sales CRM, and it includes a transactional API and SMTP relay on every plan. Its plans are Free, Starter, Standard and Professional, with Enterprise priced on request. It hosts data in the EU only, in France and Germany.

Mailburger is an email marketing tool for newsletters, signup forms and automations, running on its own delivery engine. Every plan includes a drag-and-drop editor, templates, signup forms with double opt-in, segments and campaign reports. Paid plans add automations, A/B tests, contact scoring, AI help and a REST API for syncing contacts. Plans are billed monthly with no contract, and only subscribed contacts count. It does not send app email or SMS.

How Brevo bills. You pay a plan fee plus a monthly email tier. On Starter and Standard that tier also sets how many contacts you can store: 500 on the 5,000-email tier, 1,500 on 10,000, 2,500 on 15,000, and 500,000 from 20,000 emails upwards. That is why 10,000 contacts need the 20,000-email tier even if you only send 10,000 emails a month. If you go over the contact cap, Brevo moves you to the next tier automatically, and you cannot drop to a lower tier while you hold more contacts than it allows. Monthly credits expire at the end of each billing period, and the same credits cover marketing and transactional email. Starter shows the Brevo logo unless you pay for the removal add-on. Professional starts at €499 a month for 150,000 emails. Yearly billing is 10% off.

How Mailburger bills. Plans count subscribed contacts and contacts pending double opt-in. Unsubscribed and bounced contacts do not count, and test sends and confirmation emails do not use your email allowance. Grow covers 5,000 contacts and 50,000 emails a month for €5, and Pro covers 50,000 contacts and 500,000 emails for €20. The full list is on our pricing page.

Free plans. Brevo's Free plan can store up to 100,000 contacts, but it sends 300 emails a day. A campaign to more recipients reaches 300 that day, and you requeue the rest by hand each day. It carries a permanent Brevo sticker, allows 1 user, and Free accounts unused for 4 months are deleted. Mailburger's Free plan covers 500 contacts and 2,500 emails a month with one team member.

Deliverability and sending

Brevo has a deliverability centre with a score and supports BIMI. A dedicated IP is a Professional add-on at $251 a year and is included on Enterprise, and Brevo recommends one from 100,000 emails a month, or from 3 campaigns a week to 3,000 or more contacts. Professional also includes 3 hours a year with a deliverability specialist.

Mailburger sends through its own delivery engine. You verify your sending domain with SPF, DKIM and DMARC records, campaigns carry one-click unsubscribe headers, and signup forms support double opt-in, business-email validation and spam protection with a built-in proof-of-work check or Cloudflare Turnstile. Segments on engagement and a contact score that decays over time help you send to people who still open your email. Mailburger does not offer dedicated IPs.

Team, security and agencies

Brevo's Free and Starter plans have a single user. Standard allows up to 3 marketing seats at $12 a month each, and Professional includes 10, with up to 100. SAML single sign-on is a $324 a month add-on to Professional and is included on Enterprise. Sub-organisation management for several brands or clients is Enterprise only, and agencies can join Brevo's partner programme for a revenue share.

Mailburger includes 3 team members on Grow and unlimited members on Pro, along with SAML single sign-on and a workspace audit log. The Agency plan at €49 pools 100,000 contacts and 1,000,000 emails across up to 25 client workspaces, and Agency Plus at €149 pools 500,000 contacts and 5,000,000 emails with unlimited clients. Both are white label, with your own logo, colour, sign-in link and system emails.

Support

Brevo offers email support on Free and Starter, priority email on Standard, and phone support on weekdays from Professional. Enterprise adds a customer success manager and a service level agreement.

Mailburger offers email support on every plan, with priority support on Pro.

Who should choose which

Choose Brevo if:

  • you want SMS, WhatsApp, push or live chat next to your email,
  • you send app email and marketing email and want one credit pool for both,
  • EU-only hosting is a requirement,
  • you need to store a large list for free and send rarely.

Choose Mailburger if:

  • you want A/B tests and automations without moving to Standard,
  • more than one person works on your email,
  • you need SAML single sign-on without a Professional plan,
  • you run an agency and want client workspaces on a self-serve plan.

Switching from Brevo

Export your lists as CSV files, recreate your Brevo attributes as custom fields and import each list into an audience. Tags like {{ contact.FIRSTNAME }} become {{first_name}}, with fallbacks such as {{first_name|there}}. Rebuild your workflows as automations and keep Brevo, or another API provider, for any transactional email. The full checklist is on Mailburger vs Brevo.
